At Frederic Chopin Integrative Saturday School in Bath (FCISS) we use images of the children/ young people in our care for two purposes:
- To illustrate children’s learning through the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS)
- To use for promotion of the services we provide
Only the authorised camera for each service is allowed to be used to take images of children/ young people during a session.
Use of personal cameras/ mobile phones to take images is PROHIBITED at all times.
Parental permission should always be sought for taking images of children/ young people as part of the registration process, also permission from the child/young person to be sort as appropriate of age and stage of development.
Ensure that parents/ carers understand that permission given is for both promotional use & to support observations taken on children/ young people’s learning in line with the EYFS.
Images are not to be taken of children/ young people without prior consent.
If images are taken of an activity, images need regularly downloaded into pass worded file on the computer & the media card to be wiped to ensure images of children/ young people are stored securely.
These images can then be used by services as requested for their designated use.
If a camera is being used on an off-site event, then the camera needs to be returned to FCISS at the end of the event, to ensure the safeguarding of any images taken.
